Customize: Have your hairstylist order the extensions for you so that the color can be matched as closely as possible. By adding highlights and lowlights or a toner your stylist can create a more seamless transition between your natural hair and the extensions.

Quality: Spending a little more for high quality human hair extensions allows your hairstylist to color them and gives you the freedom to style them with a blow dryer, curling iron and flat iron.

Natural Hair: The length, density and style (one length versus layered) of your natural hair will also play a role in how natural the clip-in extensions look. Hair that hits the shoulder or below is the easiest length to add extensions to without it looking obvious. It is difficult to add longer extensions to hair that is one length. The clip-in extensions blend easier when the natural hair is layered. If your natural hair is shorter or one length, I suggest using the extensions for up dos. Also, adding texture to the extensions and your natural hair helps to blend the two together and bridge the transition between the natural hair and extensions. I like to add loose waves in order to have a more natural look when styling my clients’ extensions.
