Big is Back!

From the runways of New York to Paris, Milan to London big hair is making a comeback! Here at Roffi Salon we are thrilled to be seeing such looks with creative volume and exciting movement. To achieve these looks, here are a few easy tips:

Use a volumizing or clarifying shampoo: To create that weightless look, try using a shampoo such as Rene Furterer’s Volumea. This shampoo cleanses the hair and leaves it free from product build up and oil residue so that you can style your hair to its maximum capacity. For conditioner, use a matching light weight conditioner and only apply to the ends.

Select a volumizing product(s) to work with: Whether it is a mousse, root lift, hair spray, or texturizing spray, these products are designed to give your hair a weightless feel. Try using Moroccan Oil Root Boost the next time you pump up the volume. Spray a couple of pumps on your roots after your hair has been towel dried. For even more volume, flip your head upside down and dry your roots first and then focus on the ends.

Tease a little: If you need a little extra lift, whether it be in the crown or incorporated into a messy updo or ponytail, try teasing a little! The key is to do it correctly and in a way that will be easy to work with and take out after. A teasing comb or a small boar bristle brush can be used to build volume and the key is to work in gentle motions and start at the root.

Keeping the volume: If you’ve had your hair blown out and want to maintain the volume and old school scrunchy is your best friend! At night before you go to sleep, try putting your hair up in a loose ponytail as high as you can on top of your head and secure it with a loose scrunchy so that no indentation is created. Let your hair down the next day and tease if you need to.
